We're moving!

We're moving our new stories to Denison.edu, the college's super-sweet mothership. Over time, we'll be moving some of our best past stories from TheDEN over there too. In the meantime, we've made available an archive of all stories here. This archive will be available for a few months before this site is permanently shut down. See you at Denison.edu! - June 2016

Opening act

In February, the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation held its annual event to support the fight against pediatric cancer. Usually, Nationwide Arena is the place to catch big shows — Bruce Springsteen, Cher, and Katy Perry will be coming in the next few months — but on this night, the arena swarmed with men in black tie and women in evening gowns taking part in a dinner and a live auction to raise money for their cause.

Leading up to the finalé for the evening — a runway show, featuring Blue Jackets hockey players and pediatric cancer patients and survivors — Denison’s all-female a cappella group, Ladies’ Night Out, took to the stage to provide a little music. In the end, the foundation brought in $500,000 for the kids.
