We're moving!

We're moving our new stories to Denison.edu, the college's super-sweet mothership. Over time, we'll be moving some of our best past stories from TheDEN over there too. In the meantime, we've made available an archive of all stories here. This archive will be available for a few months before this site is permanently shut down. See you at Denison.edu! - June 2016

Déjà Yuja

Have to say it; we love Yuja Wang. Love her. And she’s coming back to grace the Swasey Chapel stage with her pianistic thrills and thunder on Friday night at 8 p.m.

In case you haven’t been here very long, here’s the history: Wang first performed at Denison in 2004 as a breathtakingly talented teenager. Now she’s 24 and making her sixth appearance at Denison, and her talent is even more profound. She has played in concert halls around the planet with seemingly every symphony on Earth–but this Friday, she’s all ours. And here’s what she’ll be bringing to the keyboard: Rachmaninoff, Beethoven, Debussy, Ravel, Albéniz, and Scriabin.

Oh, and the best part is, of course, like all Vail Series events, tickets are free for those of us who are students, faculty or staff. You can pick them up this week in Slayter on the second floor between 11:30 and 2:30 p.m. A limited number of tickets will be offered for sale at the door to the general public at $15 as space allows. By the way, if you miss this show, you can catch Yuja performing in two weeks at Carnegie Hall — and a ticket could cost you more than 80 bucks.

Check out the Vail Series website for artist bios, photos, videos, concert info, and more.
